I have been working in the international development sector, both in a practitioner and academic capacity, for over 10 years. My qualifications range from undergraduate studies in Media & Communication, postgraduate studies in Communication for International Development, and a Doctoral degree in the use of Communication for Development in Peacebuilding, with particular focus on conflict transformation and participatory communication methodologies for media production. I have worked for a number of international NGOs, governmental and inter-governmental development agencies. Presently, I work for the University of New South Wales and carry out research in the area of Communication for Development and Media for Peacebuilding. Members can contact me for anything related to the use of the media & communication for development purposes; the design of development communication interventions in the Global South; the application of participatory media technologies and participatory communication methods to involve communities in the development process; the adoption of communication for development strategies to rebuild peace in both conflict and post-conflict realities, particularly at the community level; the use of communication in emergencies.
