It is with much excitement and anticipation that we announce our partnership with La Trobe University to co-host the seventh RDI Conference in June 2019.

Through an open application process for university hosts, La Trobe University stood out to the RDI Committee due to their demonstrated commitment to supporting research with real-world impact, as well a long-standing history of engagement with the international development sector in Australia, including through ongoing relationships with ACFID and RDI Network.

We are very much looking forward to working with La Trobe University to put together another successful RDI Conference, and recognise the significance of returning here after hosting our first ever conference at La Trobe back in 2009. The University have already established significant buy-in from several institutes and centres across the university, and have proposed the draft thematic focus of the conference to be ‘Leadership for Inclusive Development’.

Call for expressions of interest: Conference committee.

With the partnership for co-hosting confirmed, The RDI Committee, together with colleagues at La Trobe University, are currently inviting expressions of interest to join the RDI Conference Committee. Committee members will be involved in the conceptual and programmatic development of the Conference, and will act as ambassadors of this flagship event. They will work closely with peers from a range of organisations, building new skills and connections through this process between now and June 2019.

The RDI Conferences actively seek to engage organisations, institutions and individuals representing a cross-section of the development industry, and this is reflected in the conference organising committee. As such individuals from universities, NGOs, the private sector and independent practitioners are encouraged to apply.

Expressions of interest are now closed.

About RDI Conference

The RDI Conferences (formerly the ACFID University Network Conference) are the Network’s flagship series of cross-sector gatherings which have been running since 2009. The series is recognised as one of the most anticipated events in the Australian development sector calendar. The Conferences offer a valuable forum for dialogue, shared learning and the exploration of collaborations. The 2019 conference represents the seventh conference in the series.

Keep an eye on our website in future months as further details of the 2019 conference are made available.
