This change is essential for maintaining our independence, expanding our programs, and strengthening our community, ensuring we can continue to serve the sector. Current RDI Network members will soon be invited to become financial members.
The three categories of annual membership fees (in AUD) are:
- Standard membership: $190.00 (For development research academics, policy makers and practitioners living and working in Australia)
- Student membership: $85.00 (Full-time students at any university in Australia)
- Partner country membership $20.00 (For individuals from countries listed on the DAC ODA recipients list—includes full-time students enrolled at universities and anyone employed by development organizations in DAC ODA** recipient countries):

Registering for the Exchange 2025 – the first RDI Network conference since 2021 – will give everyone who becomes a financial member of the RDI Network the opportunity to access deeply discounted conference tickets. - Regular learning events: Stay up-to-date with online and face-to-face seminars, featuring presentations and Q&A sessions.
- Expert network: Access to technical and geographic experts through the online platform.
Longer-Term Benefits (To Be Co-designed with Members):
- Demand-led skills masterclasses: Training on topics like ethical research, inclusive research, equitable partnerships, and Indigenous research methods.
- Work-integrated learning experiences/internships: Collaboration with universities to create internships in development studies.
- Quarterly newsletter: Highlighting member activities and achievements.
Current members who decline or do not respond to the invitation to become financial members will have “legacy” access to the resources on the website until the launch of RDI’s new website.
