The Directors of RDI Network Limited are pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew French to the Board.
A development practitioner specializing in affordable housing, slum upgrading, and community planning in developing countries, Matthew brings deep expertise in sustainable urban development and human-rights based approaches. With field and research experience spanning Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific, he is a proven leader in designing and implementing impactful, community-centered solutions. His work has built robust partnerships across government, industry, academia, the United Nations and local communities.
In appointing Dr. French, the Board recognized his extensive experience, vision, and collaborative approach to advancing sustainable development goals.

Dr. Matthew French is currently Senior Director, Research Missions and Impact at Monash University in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research portfolio. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington. A graduate of the AICD course and Oxford’s Said Business School Leadership Executive Program, Matthew currently supports mission-led research programs at Monash University. Known for his impact-focused, collaborative leadership, he is committed to leveraging his strategic, technical, and executive expertise to drive meaningful contributions at RDI.
