ACFID releases Federal Budget analysis

ACFID has released its analysis of the 2019-20 Federal Budget, outlining Budget winners and losers, and considering its impacts on key aid programs, including climate change, humanitarian, the role of civil society in the aid program, and infrastructure.

ACFID’s analysis notes Australia’s aid budget remains frozen at $4 billion per annum over the forward estimates. Indexation is scheduled to return only in FY22/23 despite a cash surplus in the FY19/20 federal budget of $7.1 billion, resulting in a real-terms decline in spending power.
